Job Description Embedded software engineer working in the Sydney development group, part of a team developing software for a wide range of
embedded chips developed by Broadcom's wireless LAN group.

The role involves:
- design, development and debugging of low-level embedded firmware
- host-side driver development on a range of platforms including Linux, Android and Windows

In addition, the successful applicant will be required to participate in:
- software architecture improvement
- development process enhancement
- code and interface design reviews
Job Requirements - Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with at least 12 years experience in software engineering
- Experience with embedded firmware development in C or C++ is required
- Experience with IP networking stacks/protocols is required
- Development experience with communications equipment and experience with Linux development environment is highly desirable
- Development experience with 802.11 wireless networking is highly desirable
- Experience of software development in the context of strict version control and issue tracking is highly desirable
- Experience with ARM is a plus
- Experience with writing software for ROM is a plus
- Experience with open source software is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Excellent communications skills

Job Requirements *PhD, Masters or Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or a related field. This degree should have provided a demonstrable solid knowledge of circuit analysis, control theory, linear systems, and electromagnetics

* Experience in analog or RF CMOS circuit design leading to fabricated silicon

* Both industry and academic experience are welcomed; you must have spent a large proportion of your time over the last two years designing circuits

* Experience in the design of one or more of direct-conversion receivers, RF power amplifiers, PLLs, analog filters or sigma-delta analog to digital converters, which have gone to fabrication

* Demonstrated use of industry-best-practice verification of analog/RF circuit design with tools such as VerilogA, detailed knowledge of circuit simulator use and parasitic extraction, experience in modeling of variation, demonstrated ability in designing testbenches for complex mixed mode systems, and demonstrated understanding of the importance and use of version control

* Demonstrated ability to debug circuits in the lab. Familiarity with RF test equipment and RF board-level issues and preferably JTAG, GPIB, Matlab and Python
