Cambridge is the headquarters of Broadcom’s Mobile Multimedia group which designs software and hardware for the multimedia chips powering the next generation of mobile phones and media players. These devices support HD video record and playback, 12 Mpixel cameras with advanced image processing, and high-performance 3D for advanced user interfaces, navigation displays, and mobile gaming.

As a talented and creative software engineer, you will be part of an extremely strong technical team developing software for use with our low power multimedia processor, VideoCore. The role involves detailed design, coding and testing of software modules, from code running on the VideoCore system to the integration with host operating systems such as Android. These software modules have to support a wide range of different use cases to cater for range of end products. You may have the opportunity to contribute to top-level discussions on the future development of VideoCore architecture, working alongside our chip design engineers.

The typical project is centred around the middleware layer with specific emphasis on the different use cases generated by a wide range of end products. You will have the ability to contribute to top-level discussions on the future development of VideoCore architecture, and to work alongside our chip design engineers.
