Job Description Broadcom is developing the next generation handheld devices with integrated cellular phone, digital camera, video camcorder and television capability using Broadcom's family of mobile multimedia processors. Broadcom's mobile multimedia processors offer high-performance programmable multimedia capability with minimum power consumption and are designed to support the convergence of voice, video and data in handheld devices.

Our design verification team supports multiple lines of products within the Mobile Business Unit.

This job position will support the Memory Controller IP, which supports the DDR3 protocols.

Your responsibility will include:
- Verifying the Memory Controller IP in a VMM randomly constrained verification environment
- Developing functional verification testplans for the Memory Controller
- Support and update IP for new memory protocols
- Running and debugging regression failures in the DV environment
- Enhancing, upgrading, and maintaining the verification environment for the Memory Controller IP
- Work closely with RTL designer as well as software and hardware engineers (such as FPGA team) to verify/debug issues in IP
- Assist in functional test vector generation and bring up on ATE for IP
- Assist in silicon bring up for IP

This position can be located in Longmont, CO or Irvine, CA
Job Requirements Typically requires a BS degree and 3
years of experience plus required training, or an MS and
no years of experience plus required training

Job Requirements
- Can create/enhance randomly constrained verification environments
- DDR3 experience is required, or similar memory protocols
- Strong verilog skils is required
- Experience in System Verilog is required
- Experience with VMM is required, or some similar methodology OVM/UVM
- Must be able to multitask, self motivated, detail oriented

In this role you will:
- Develop functional test/verification plans for mobile multimedia SOC devices.
- Develop a verification environment and self-checking test suites for full chip and block level.
- Devices include such functionality as embedded ARM, video, and 3D rendering cores, wireless networking technologies, and assorted peripherals.
- Responsible for ASIC test vectors generation and debugging.
- Work with system and hardware engineers to port the tests to other environments (such as FPGA prototyping systems), silicon bring up and validation, etc.
Job Requirements Typically requires a BS degree and 3 years of experience plus required training, or an MS and no years of experience plus required training.
- Experience in SOC verification.
- Experience in verifying designs from system and block level.
- Experience with either ARM (preferred) or MIPS embedded architectures.
- Strong Verilog/Vhdl, C/C++, Vera/Specman, PERL, TCL programming skills.
- SystemC, System Verilog or assertion based verification background a plus.
- Strong system and block level reference modeling skill.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for developing, verifying, and optimizing form factor cellular handset HW designs. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and testing of HW designs such as audio, power management, memory, cameras, displays, high speed interfaces (e.g. USB and MIPI), and wireless connectivity (e.g. WLAN, GPS, and NFC). Development work includes adhering to signal and power integrity, and EMC requirements in board designs. It also includes specifying electrical and mechanical interfaces.

Bring-up and verification of printed circuit board designs and Broadcom components is also a key component of this position

In this role, you will work closely with the ASIC, System, RF, Software, and IC Packaging design teams as well as other design groups across a variety of products and technologies within the company.
Job Requirements • BS in Electrical Engineering plus 6 years experience or an MS plus 3 years experience.

• Experience in processor, display, memory, interface connector, and camera circuit design for handsets in volume production is preferred.

• Experience in HW analog and digital circuit design at the board level is required.

• Some understanding of cellular standards (GSM, GPRS, EGPRS and WCDMA) is desirable.

• Must be a self-starter, good communicator, and be able to work closely with many functional groups throughout the company.
