Job Description Broadcom’s Infrastructure and Networking Group (ING) is looking for a talented Sr. Electrical Engineer to become a key member of our High Speed Controller (HSC) Board Design team. As a team member you will design Test Boards for evaluation of new Broadcom silicon and design volume Production Boards for Consumer and Enterprise markets. The ideal candidate is a good communicator (both verbally and in writing), self-motivated, works well within a team environment, and has +10yrs direct experience implementing board designs from concept to validation, and through production. High speed circuit analysis and trouble-shooting skills are required and familiarity with communication test equipment, IEEE 802.3xx and PCISIG standards, and Regulatory compliance testing is necessary. Also system level thermal and mechanical board analysis/skills are a desirable. Come join Broadcom’s High Speed Board Design team and challenge your skills. Job Requirements Skills:
--Can communicate both verbally and in writing.
--Self starter and motivated.
--Can take a design from start to finish (design through production).
--Experience with volume PCB production design and test.
--Can debug/trouble-shoot high speed (gigahertz) circuits.
--Compliance experience with Regulatory Agencies (FCC, UL, CSA, CISPR, IEEE, etc..)
--Can trouble-shoot and design PCI-E interface.
--Can trouble-shoot and design Ethernet 10/100/1G/10G (both copper and fiber).
--Exposure to thermal analysis.
--Exposure to mechanical analysis.

Job Description Broadcom is developing solutions supporting the next generation of 3G and 4G high-speed mobile technologies. Job Requirements Qualifications/skills:  • Senior level technical experience - 6 years minimum PCB design, with 3 years minimum using one or more of the following tools; Cadence Allegro and Mentor Expedition.

• Experience with with the following is required: Blind and buried microvias / high density RF boards / impedance control
• IPC Designers Council Certification (C.I.D.) a plus.
• Knowledge of IPC specifications and common industry practices is desired.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Job Description • Design, implement, and test hardware reference designs as well as hardware development, validation, and test platforms for PHY networking products including 1GBase-T, 10GBase-T, Automotive, PoE, Optical, and backplane. May support features like EEE, MACSec, 1588, BroadR-Reach, etc.
• Assume ownership of the design from concept and requirements collection to finished product, including delivery to internal and external customers.
• Design and simulate schematics, oversee and simulate layout, integrate hardware / software, test and debug final platform.
• Design and simulated FPGAs for interface, control, traffic generation, and to support new features.
• Provide full documentation for requirements, layout hand-off, test configuration, and as needed for status.
• Communicate effectively with the internal team, chip groups, device verification team, program management, outside vendors and contractors in various sites and time-zones.
• Participate in customer design reviews as needed, utilizing strong communication and documentation skills.
• Participate in internal design reviews as needed.
Job Requirements • BSEE (MSEE preferred) with at least 6 years of hands-on design experience implementing high speed digital and analog boards
• Must have extensive board design experience using OrCAD or Mentor schematic capture and a working knowledge of Allegro or Mentor PCB layout tools.
• Must have a strong background in signal integrity and transmission lines including a working knowledge of signal integrity simulation tools and power integrity simulation tools
• Must have a strong background in FPGA hardware design, simulation, and implementation using Verilog, VHDL, and Synplify for Xilinx or Altera FPGA design.
• Strong communication and documentation skills are required, plus the ability to work successfully in a multi-site, multi-time zone environment.
• Must be able to work independently and determine board interface requirements
• Must have strong debug and test capability in the lab
• Experience with DFT, DFM, and test for EMC is a plus
• Experience with Agile is a plus
• Some software skills and basic software familiarity is a plus
