Job Description Broadcom Corporation, a market leading Wireless LAN (WLAN) company based in Sunnyvale, California, is seeking highly motivated individuals to lead the system testing efforts. The job involves developing and implementing operating methods and procedures to thoroughly tests WLAN products. The candidate will work closely with hardware and software engineering teams as well external testing agencies and labs to achieve product objectives.

The WLAN products are driven by software components which include complex drivers and firmware that support an array of IEEE 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n wireless devices and features (11n, WPA2, WMM, WPS1.0 &amp; 2.0, UAPSD), IPTV, HotSpot, DLNA etc.

You will be actively involved in one or more projects in the testing department and have the following responsibilities:
a) Develop automation for different functional test plans and optimize the existing test scripts and execute them on different HW and SW platforms.
b) Devise test strategies for different platforms and software environments including 3rd party applications. Build test infrastructure and upgrade them as and when needed. Optimize the existing test automation for better efficiency and reporting.
c) Collect the SW and HW requirements and prepare test plans as per the requirements and get them reviewed by SW, HW and Marketing teams.
d) Initiate and develop proactive methods to detect product weaknesses in a timely manner.
e) Conduct tests as required with internal (checked) and external (free) builds, analyze and report results, and document and track issues in the bug tracking database.
f) Provide product feedback to engineering teams, including program managers and actively engage in solutions.
g) Engage and interface with external testing agencies as appropriate.
h) Develop test plans and test methodologies as per system requirements and specifications.
i) Mentor and guide the junior engineers as appropriate.
Job Requirements You must demonstrate hands-on test automation expertise and knowledge of white box and black box testing techniques. The ideal candidate must have very good WLAn, Wireless knowledge and skills to test and analyze failures in SW, HW and firmware. Knowledge on scripting languages such as TCL/Expect, Python or Perl would help. Candidate must have knowledge of WiFi/WLAN 802.11n wireless technologies and networking protocols. Knowledge of C and C++ programming languages as well as GUI automation tools such as Silk Test, Win Runner, etc., will be desired but not mandatory. Prefer individuals who have developed and implemented test plans for Networking and Wireless products in Windows, Linux and other embedded operating platforms.
Proven knowledge of communication networking is a requirement for the job.
Proven track record of well documented test plan development, test plan reviews, feedback and test execution is a requirement for the job.
Find the system Software bugs and report them. Track them to the proper closing. Work with Developers and other teams to debug various issues and problems that are found.

The job requires excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills. The chosen candidate will be required to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to handle multiple projects in parallel. We prefer individuals who are independent thinkers with solid interpersonal and organizational skills

A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, EE or Math is required. A Masters of Science degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines is highly desirable.

The selected individual must have seven to ten years experience in software development/testing with a proven track record of delivering production quality software products in wireless/WiFi/WLAN in a fast paced environment.

Job Description This position must define and execute the quality assurance strategy for hardware, software, system, and board level testing and validation procedures, to ensure high level of product quality. Additional key focus is board level RMA / FA processing, analyzing, documentation, and proper closure.

• Engage in testing and the quality assurance of networking software in development / test.
• Good knowledge of the internal operation of Ethernet Switching and/or TCP/IP. Able to configure the system under test, configure interoperating switches and routers, understand the details of the various network devices interaction while protocols operate, obtain and analyze packet traces, and determine whether test criteria are met.
• Able to put together software test plans, work closely with Test Engineering and or Software Development Engineers to validate test plan, and able to report activities to the team
• Manage board level RMA / FA activities from point of customer reporting to final root cause. Ensure all activities managed at each milestone and report into the FA system, and the RMA tracking software tool.
• Organize, chair, and lead regular MRB meetings to address RMA / FA, and ensure reports are done per the company guideline and procedure.
• Work with the various engineering teams internally and possibly Contract Manufacturers during design, NPI, Ramp, and sustaining phases to ensure quality objectives are established, met, and maintained.
• Work and interface with Test Engineering, Program Management, QA, Manufacturing, Design Layout, and Design Engineering to ensure quality objectives are planned early in design stages, and executed during NPI.
• Interface with suppliers to address failures related to manufacturing and initiate corrective measures.
Job Requirements • BSEE degree with more than 9 years relevant experience
• Preferred mixed experience in the following areas: Software test and validation preferably in Ethernet Switching and/or TCP/IP, System testing and validation, Board level experience, DVT Testing, Hardware software troubleshooting, debug, Manufacturing
• Some PCBA reliability knowledge and implementation experience is helpful
• PCB knowledge and working knowledge of fabrication processes is helpful
• Some IC knowledge is helpful
• Experience in implementation and management of quality systems in a manufacturing environment
• Direct customer interface experience (PC OEM customer experience a plus)
• Working supply chain knowledge
• Experience with quality improvement methodology (SPC, chip/board failure analysis, root cause analysis)

Job Description The Senior Staff Engineer, Software Quality Assurance is engaged in testing and the quality assurance of embedded networking software. The Engineer has specific, detailed knowledge of the internal operation of Ethernet switching and/or TCP/IP, complete L2/L3 protocol knowledge. Test procedures require the test engineer to be able to configure the system under test, configure interoperating switches and routers, understand the details of the various network devices’ interaction while protocols operate, obtain and analyze packet traces, and be able to determine whether the test case criteria are met. The engineer will work with various types of traffic generators to conduct manual/automated traffic testing on device(s) under test. Additionally the Engineer is required to put together a test plans, work closely with the Manager of QA and SDK Development teams. Own the complete testing of the given program/module, mentor and guide the junior engineers on the program.
Job Requirements * Typically requires a BS degree and 9 years of experience plus training or an MS degree and 6 years of experience plus required or PhD with no experience
*Highly motivated self-starter; ability to use own initiative, drive decisions and create direction.
*Popular L2/Ethernet Switching, L3 (TCP/IP) and routing protocol experience.
*Utilize traffic generation tools such as IXIA or Spirent.
*Must have used TCL, Perl or any scripting languages for functional/automated testing
*Must possess C or C++programming/debugging skills
*Direct experience of working in a software test environment within embedded communications.
*Proven track-record as a networking product tester in a system environment
