Job Description Broadcom offers a family of WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), GPRS (General Packet Radio Services), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication), and LTE (Long-term Evolution) products for use in cellular phones, cellular modem cards and wireless PDAs. As wireless devices including handsets, data-cards and smart-phones, emerge as the dominant platform for mobile media convergence they are driving the need for higher data rates. Broadcom is developing solutions supporting the next generation of high-speed mobile technologies with a product roadmap that includes base-band processors for WCDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA, HSPA+, LTE and TD-SCDMA , as well as a portfolio of mobile multimedia co-processors. Broadcom will help to build a new generation of mobile devices supporting new applications such as video telephony and messaging, graphics-rich sports and news clips, interactive gaming, location-based services and improved web browsing.
In this position you will:
--Participate in the continuous development and improvement of cellular protocol stack, including implementing new relevant 3GPP features/CRs as well as customer or operator specific requirements.
--Participate in system integration, verification, debugging and test of new generation of mobile devices based on GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, UMTS , LTE, and/or TD-SCDMA standards.
--Actively participate in modem performance enhancements, memory and MIPS optimization.
--Support conformance, interoperability (IOT), and live network testing. It will require performing analysis of the problem scenarios and generating efficient solutions.
-- Develop new simulation tools and platforms.
-- Develop 2G/3G/4G Inter-system functionality.
Job Requirements -Typically requires a BS degree and 6 years of experience, an MS degree and 3 years of experience or a PhD.
-Solid background on the cellular protocol stack development and integration.
-Good knowledge and experience on 3GPP specs and GSM/GPRS/EGPRS/WCDMA/UMTS/LTE/TD-SCDMA standards.
- Proficient in C programming.
- Good understanding of real-time OS.
- Knowledge a cellular test equipment and script languages, such as perl, a plus.
