Job Description Mobile Platform Group is looking for an experienced System Design Engineer to be responsible for Mobile Phone platform power management architecture and systems design. The successful candidate will be involved in the following:
• drive system engineering aspects of platform level power and thermal management technology to influence product platform development
• define platform level power budget for the overall mobile phone platform
• define use case power consumption estimation and drive correlation to measured power consumption on existing and future platforms
• define critical thermal use cases and develop thermal model and correlation to platform measurement
• working with cross functional team to analyze use case data flow and performance metrics from power consumption optimization perspective
• working with cross functional team including software to optimize architecture solution from the overall power consumption
• drive the development of power consumption and thermal model at the platform level
Job Requirements The candidate should have 10+ years of experience in low power consumption design and architecture. Ideally, the candidate will have breath in wireless/mobile phone system design. Deep understanding on the regulator (SMPS, LDO) design considerations is required.
It is required to have some technology depth in the following areas:
• Low Power Design experience in consumer electronics and/or mobile phone
• Low Power Design analysis and optimization
o DVFS
o Clock Gating
o Other techniques
• Deep understanding on regulator (SMPS and LDO) design considerations
• Power Consumption and Thermal Modeling techniques
• Overall Platform System Control: Power Up/Down, Clock Distribution and Control
• Mixed signal design experience
• Understanding of major component power contribution
• Platform/System Modeling
• Experience in writing system specification
• Excellent team collaboration and communications

Education:
Master Degree in EE or related field is required
